Need some help please.

I'm fairly new to the game & have a long list of questions. Please answer any that you feel like thanks:

I've just hit Lv 50 & still have some quests remaining in Stillmoor & have only unlocked, but not explored, Ember Isle & other continent (Dasken - I think?)

Question 1:

I have brought the 6 slot focus & omen sight - what now is best use of planarite?

Question 2:

I have nearly 8000 Void stones, what should I be looking to use these on?

Question 3:

Loot drops seem very poor, I have only seen 1 purple item drop in 50 levels, is this normal? Where/What should I be doing to get better loot? I'm not a fan of PvP & sure would get killed instantly with my predominantly low level blue/green gear.

Question 4:

1 Have only ever seen 2 nightmare rifts in this playthrough on European servers (I started a game on US servers & got to Lv 22 & saw a lot more - is there an issue?)

Question 5:

Up until now pretty much only been doing the quests from NPC's - must admit to still being confused by Raids, Instant adventures, dungeons etc - any clarification would be welcome.

Question 6:

Up until now avoided any guilds - what are the benefits of joining - my fear has been that requirements to do xxx raid when I don't really understand what that is etc.
