Wait... "won an auction?" "no money in mail?"

I don't think I'm wrong but isn't 'won an auction' indicating you bought something off the AH not sold something? You should have an item in mail, not money if this is the case.

Either way, you sure you didn't hit the 'take all' button at the bottom of the mailbox? It would auto-take all money you would have gained from selling auctions as well as all items you would have gained by buying auctions and put them directly in your bags (or currencies area).
