I'd like to pitch a suggestion for upgrading the functionality of the Guild panel. Some of this is just ideas I've had, and some of it is inspired by the now-defunct BiSCal addon.
1) Log Filtering: I like being able to see a log of "significant events" but in a dynamic guild like mine many of the thing's I'd really like to see as an officer get paged out by random individual achievements. I'd love to see a way to filter different categories, such as Individual Achievements, Promotes/Demotes, Guild Invites/Gquits, and Guild Quest notifications.
2) Officers' Wall: Again, I like the wall functionality but I think it can be used for more. As it stands, access to the wall in my guild is limited because that's where we post our guild's upcoming events and we don't want it to be paged away into oblivion. In order to help offset this, we have two facebooks (members and officers) as well as a forum for our guild. This can be a lot to keep track of sometimes. I'd like to see a separate wall for Officers, where we can leave behind info for other officers who aren't online at the time.
3) Recruitment & Guild Finder Guild finder is great, but it ends up sending a mail to every officer in the guild and there's no way of telling who has addressed which applicant. I think it would be better if Gfinder messages were displayed in the Recruitment tab of the guild interface. A display showing the applicant and their message, as well as the name of the officer who contacts/invites/declines them. That way we can all be on the same page and not have redundant or even conflicting actions. Since there would no longer be a mail, I would suggest a small notification icon under the minimap similar to the Minion/Mail notification we already have. On a less pleasant note, I think a guild blacklist would be handy at times. There have been incidents where a member got himself kicked then waited for an officer who didn't know what had happened to re-invite and cause more trouble.
4) Event Calendar: BiSCal had it right when they tried this. I'd love to see a simple calendar with the ability for event creation (based on user groups, the next topic), signups, and descriptions. Things like Crafting Rift runs, Raids, NTE gearing runs, RP events, WF premades, etc.
5) Guild Subgroups: Think UNIX user groups: different groups with different permissions, but users can be included in multiple groups. Some examples would be a group for Core Raiders, which can be used to control who can see/signup for a raid event on the calendar. Perhaps a couple of the raiders are also involved in RP, you can have all the RPers in a group so that they can create their own events on the calendar. I'm sure you can come up with many many ways to use this.
