Newbie inquiry

Hello, I started playing Rift yesterday and love it.

I just reached level 20 but have noticed that every time I level up, only my HP gets an upgrade, whereas in the beginning my attack ect was also getting extra points from levelling up, but for the last few levels it hasn't - is that how the levelling system works or have I done something wrong? Having high HP is nice but would be nice if other stats upgraded as well.
