Access to PvP Warfront on PTS

I wanted to check the stats of my character on a WF. Wanted to look at bolstering and a few other things, in an attempt to gear up properly. So I opened the WF queue and put myself in it to join a random war front. After being in the queue for 30 minutes, I just gave up. I logged back into live and joined a war front there so I could do the checking. This was not so great because I had to hurry myself along, I was now in a live war front and I had some obligation to help the team.
What I am leading up to is;
Couldn't the access to the PTS war front just be a simple click and join, similiar to an instanced dungeon. Sometimes, I don't really want to do any actual PvP, just use the PTS to do testing. I'd rather not do tests on the live servers. If there is already a way to do this, maybe someone could tell me how?
